The Tasmanian Chocolate Tomato, distinguished by its mahogany skin, is renowned for its rich, complex flavor, robust sweetness and savory undertones, ideal for salads and sauces. The plant yields medium fruits, offering versatility in culinary applications. Celebrated for adaptability, this dwarf variety, reaching 2-3 ft., suits container gardening without extensive staking, exhibiting determinate yet continuous fruiting. The 4-8 oz. beefsteak tomatoes, with a meaty texture, mature in 70-75 days, favored for fresh consumption and sandwiches. Developed by the Dwarf Tomato Project, it originated from a cross of New Big Dwarf and Paul Robeson by Patrina Nuske Small, named Happy, and selected and named as Tasmanian Chocolate by Linda Reid.
