Emerald City is a dwarf, green-when-ripe specialty tomato bred by Karen Olivier as part of her Short and Sweet project. Semi-determinate plants average 40–50 cm tall and set clusters of jade-green fruits brushed with golden stripes. Flesh is juicy-sweet with a fruity finish when fully ripe; wait for a slight amber cast and softness to develop before picking. Compact plants excel in patio containers with a stout stake or small cage to manage the steady set. A compact showpiece that pairs striking looks with excellent eating quality for salads and boards. Fruits shine in both fresh salads and slow‑simmered sauces where their natural balance comes forward. Plants respond well to consistent moisture and mulching, which helps reduce blossom‑end stress and keeps fruit quality high. Give sturdy support and prune lightly to maintain airflow and make harvest easier as clusters build.
